Joana has a degree in Visual Arts and Technologies from Lisbon School of Education(ESELx) and she is currently taking a Master’s Degree in Interaction Design at Faculdade deArquitetura of Universidade de Lisboa (FAUL). 

Her master’s degree thesis focuses on promoting empathy and social inclusion through Virtual Reality. Using Interaction Design and Emotional Design, the main purpose is to give teenagers the opportunity to view life from another person’s perspective, and be in someone else’s shoes, showing themother cultures and costumes, hoping this experience will help developing more empathy and acceptance of the other.
